In my heart you will stay

Here are some of the shots my sister took of Hunter and I while we were home over the break.

I just couldn't be happier.

Tkaye in the making.

My mom finally hung up a painting I did back in the spring.  It looks great!  It's definitely the best painting I have done thus far.

Look familiar?

When life gives you lemons..

This past week I learned so much about myself; so much more than I am physically and emotionally capable of dealing with at this point in my life.

I'm at that point in my life where I'm in between caring and not caring. And it's caused a bunch of confusion in my mind. I think I have gotten the categories mixed up in my life by not setting my priorities straight. It's a wonder a why I can't focus and get anything done. Yet, at the same time I'm slowly discovering who I really am, what I want in this life, and what God's plans are for me in this life.

This holiday season I am thankful for who I have become over the past year. I'm thankful for those who have stuck by my side. And I'm thankful God gave me the desire to love every single one of them.

Fall is in the air..

Okay, so it's been fall for a while but it hasn't exactly felt like fall in Statesboro, GA; which quite frankly I do not mind.  I'm not a big fan of cold weather.  I'm a huge fan of the in between state where summer is dragging its behind into fall and it has just slightly gotten cooler.  That is my kind of weather.  Nonetheless, I am carrying on the normal activities made for this time of year!

Apple pie, pumpkin seeds, cinnamon apple candle, and hot chocolate.  My favorites.

Despite the typical warm weather here in Statesboro, it has actually been very cold the past two weeks.  And it has made me one unhappy camper; apart from the excitement of my cute fall clothes finally being hung up in my closet for me to wear.

Happy Sunday!

Running Behind

It's only Tuesday and I already have a long list of things to accomplish by Thursday that I am far behind on.  And who knows if I'll ever catch up.  There never seems to be a still moment anymore where I can just take a few deep breaths, and relax.  I'll be thankful to have those moments back; if they ever come.

I know this past weekend is over and I'm a little past due on that as well, but my weekend was pretty eventful, I'd say.

Saturday, we headed to Savannah and spent a couple hours at the SCAD Museum of Art. If you haven't ever been, you're missing out! This piece belongs to IVÁN NAVARRO. The illusion is actually only about six inches deep.  Neat, yea?

And of course we couldn't go a whole day in Savannah without discovering at least one thrift store.  And a fun, yet extremely expensive thrift store it was.  Here I also found every photographer's dream: a HUGE barrel full of old cameras.  Yes, I was in Heaven.

We spent the rest of the day in Savannah shopping, in which case I went on a much unnecessary shopping spree.  But also, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and became a proud owner of a pair of TOMS (yes, I am this far behind).  And yes, they are way comfortable.

Sunday, I spent the majority of the day cramming for a ceramics project.  Then I took a much needed break, snapped some photos of my cute roomie for a photo assignment, and then we got out our hammocks and stayed a while.  Not a long while though.  The mosquito biting was too intense for me.  But apart from the swarm of bugs, it was a delightful afternoon.

I'll be so glad to have another one of these weekends.  The only thing getting me through the right right now is motivation to make it to the David Gray concert on Friday.  I'm also looking forward to some hiking Saturday morning in North Carolina.  I'd say this is definitely going to be a weekend to look forward to.

Late night coffee and live music

Well it's official.  I have finally visited 'Latte Da', a local coffee shop here in town.  It has been on my list for so long to visit, and what more perfect night to visit than when they are having live music!  It was the best.  This definitely contributed to the relaxing Friday night after a long, dreadful week.

Sadly, this was probably the first AND last time I will have gone to Latte Da.  For why?  Because they are selling Latte Da! Sad day.. I barely got to experience it.  But selling it?  Wellllllll, I can't seem to get out of my head my dream of owning a cupcake shop.  Man, how I wish I was in great financial state so that I could purchase this cafe and partially live out my dream!  Oh well, there will be more time for that.

Thankful for great friends and peaceful nights.  On the other hand, not too excited about living off VERY LITTLE sleep lately.

Weekend plans?

Sister Style

So I'm a little late, but here's some snapshots from my weekend home last weekend.  My sister and I spent some time taking some photos together and documenting our outfits.

That weekend was SO beautiful.  The weather was perfect, a little cool but still warm enough for me!  This period in between summer and fall is certainly my favorite.  I don't enjoy the cold but I can't stand too much of the heat.  We picked out these outfits to wear while the weather was still lingering in summer.  Time to cram in as many more summer outfits as we can before the cold gets here for good (just for a while I suppose).

What are your favorite outfits to wear during the transition from summer to fall?
